About The Neighbors
The nice thing is ... there aren't many.
The marina borders one edge of the property, but the nearest homes are about 1/4 mile away.
The marina is our closest neighbor. For most of the year it is nearly empty and quiet. In the summer months, boaters are there, but they stay on the marina, and are in general a friendly group. The sailing crowd is concentrated on the west end of the marina, and they are a fairly quiet group.
These are some of our favorite neighbors! Every year we have several families of Canada geese (this mother goose and goslings are standing on the banks of our back pond), many families of mallard ducks, and even a few merganser ducks (it is great fun to watch the babies ride on their mother's back!).
