About The Grounds
Many people believe that ours is the best spot on Cayuga Lake, bar none. We do too. It sits at the tip of Myers Point, the largest point on Cayuga Lake. The way the lake angles places our property nearly in the middle of the lake between the steep shores. We look south 6 miles straight down the lake to Ithaca, and then north 3 miles across the lake to the point of Taughannock Falls State Park. You are surrounded by the lake on the North, West and South sides. There is even a private pond/cove on the East side of the property connected to the lake through the marina. It's not quite an island in the middle of Cayuga Lake, but it is as close as you can get. And there are no tall or rickety stairs to navigate between parking, the house, and the lake itself, as are found with many of the lake houses on the southern half of Cayuga Lake. Just drive right up. It doesn't get much easier than this: 1.4 very private acres of level lake access.
We have a dock off the south end of the property where generations of families have enjoyed jumping into Cayuga Lake in the summer. There's a second dock on the small private cove in the back where the kids can fish or small fishing boats can be docked. Turtles can sometimes be seen sunning themselves on logs in the pond, and crayfish like it there too. And where there are crayfish, the great blue herons like to hunt ...
Birdwatching, sunning, swimming, floating, bonfires, star-gazing. These are all easy to do here. A firepit provides the opportunity for relaxation, contemplation, conversation ... and roasting marshmallows! No matter what your interests, opportunities for enjoyment abound from the time you get up in the morning, until you fall into bed at night.

Dusk falls across the lake, but there is plenty to be enjoyed. Relax on the comfortable outdoor furniture on the deck or grab some stacking chairs from the utility room and sit around one of two firepits available for bonfires!
